Cork Against Human Trafficking

Human trafficking occurs globally every day, and the exploitation of individuals for profit has reached unprecedented levels. Cork and the rest of Ireland are not exempt from this crisis. Currently, over 40 million people worldwide are trapped in conditions of slavery, suffering abuse and exploitation.

In response to this, Cork Against Human Trafficking (CAHT) was established in 2019. CAHT aims to combat human trafficking in Cork by raising awareness and educating the public on how to identify signs of trafficking. The organization includes members from the Cork Sexual Violence Centre, NASC, MECPATHS, The Gardai, The Legal Aid Board, The HSE, UCC, and Kevin Hyland O.B.E., the first Anti-Slavery Commissioner to the UK.
